Q. What is a proprietary BMS?

A. This is a type of BMS protection board that communicates data between itself and the bike’s controller.

Each brand that uses this type of BMS has unique programming that can’t be copied or replaced with aftermarket boards so failing or dead batteries that need replacement must be purchased by that specific brand or dealer.

Although some can technically be rebuilt if this board still works it’s typically inadvisable because the board can’t be replaced if it fails.

Q. What is the difference between a new and a rebuilt battery?

A. Our batteries are essentially brand new batteries that use the original outer battery housing.

Many manufacturers use custom made battery housings that uniquely fit in their frame and therefore it would be required to use the existing case to do a rebuild. In nearly every rebuild we do a new waterproof BMS is installed. In the rare circumstance we don’t or can’t use one the customer would be notified before any work is performed.
